Mick's Instructions:
 
     How to send a System Profiler Report (Leopard 10.5, Snow Leopard 10.6)

 

Note: Follow along with these instructions on your computer. The pictures you see on this website are just photos of the steps you should take on your own Mac.

Step 1: Click on the Apple in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. Select "About This Mac."

 

 

Step 2: Click on "More Info..." in the window that appears.

 

 

Step 3: System Profiler will open, and you'll see this window.

 

 

Step 4: Click on the "File" menu and select "Save As..."

 

 

Step 5: Select Desktop from the pull-down menu, and click Save.

 

 

Step 6: Attach the file to an email to Mick's Macs. (contact@micksmacs.com). If you are using Apple's Mail program, continue. If you're using webmail and aren't sure how to attatch a file, keep scrolling down. (For Gmail, Yahoo, and Cox.)

Using Apple's Mail:

Open the Mail application

 

Compose a new email:

Drag the System Profiler file into the body of the email. Send it to contact@micksmacs.com

 

Congratulations! You have now sent Mick's Macs a System Profiler Report. This will help us know what your computer's capabilities, and system specs are.

Attatching a File in Webmail (Gmail, Yahoo, Cox)

Gmail:
Compose a new email, and click on the Attatch a File link. Select the file from your desktop.

Yahoo:
Compose a new email, click on Attatchments, click Choose File and select the file from your desktop.

Cox:
Compose a new email, and click the Add Attachments link. Click on Choose File and select the file on your desktop.
